The NHL Player Safety Board has announced that Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri has been suspended for the remainder of the first round.
Kadri and forward Jake DeBrusk had engaged in a feud through the duration of Saturday’s game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins.
After laying a solid hit on Patrick Marleau, DeBrusk was met with a cross check to the neck/head area from Kadri.
The 28-year old centre was given a 5-minute major and a game misconduct following the play.
In their 2018 playoff campaign vs. Boston, Kadri received a three game suspension for boarding Tommy Wingels.
The London, ON native has been suspended five times in his career, all resulting from hits to the head.
